Introduction
As I am writing this, it is May 2024 which is significant for me. This may be odd for a lot of people, since it is not January or close to my birthday or any major age milestone.
Why is this significant to me?
Ten years ago, in May 2004, I realized that I needed to make a change. I was at Disney World for a long weekend, and all the walking was rough – my feet and whole body hurt meaning that I couldn’t do as much as I wanted to do. I knew I was going to Alaska in September then back to Disney World in October and I didn’t want this experience again. So, I began to focus on walking more, a small step in the right direction.
Ten years later, I am looking back at the journey I have been on and realize just how far I have come. I am physically in better shape and have lost some weight, my house is more organized, I am far more financially stable, and I have made strides with my mental health. The last ten years has been roller coaster ride mixed with triumphs and heartbreaks. The journey has been long and hard but worth it. I am documenting my journey on this blog, to help me be able to look back and see my growth as I am on a mission to become a happy and healthy person.
